Wed Cred: San Francisco Bridal Style from Local Sources

June may be the height of wedding season everywhere else, but September is hands-down our favorite month for Northern California weddings. Just in time for all the lovely fall weddings taking place in the Bay Area, here are our picks for bridal must-haves from local sources.

Aisle Style: Atelier Des Modistes

We’re taken with the you-won’t-see-it-everywhere-else glamour of bridal gowns by Russian Hill designer and Atelier Des Modistes boutique owner Suzanne Hanley, whose one-of-a-kind gowns are constructed of Italian silk satins and shantungs and embellished with vintage French trims and bead work featuring precious and semi-precious stones.

If you’re headed down the aisle and Hanley’s style appeals, make haste: this weekend is the Hyde Street bridal shop’s annual sample sale. What’s it to you? Up to 75 percent off gowns, veils, headpieces and bridal jewelery. Prices start at $500.

Feel free to swing by and peruse, but call ahead if you’ve got designs on the dressing room, as try-ons are done by appointment.

The Firm Wants to Give You Champagne & Cupcakes

This reminds us of a long-honored piece of wisdom we try to live our lives by: When someone offers you Champagne and cupcakes, take them.

In this case, you technically should be the subject of an impending wedding to partake of this event from The Firm & And Something Blue. Suppose how far you’ll go depends on just how much you like the aforementioned goodies.

(P.S. If you’re looking for some fabulicious bubbly, may we strongly recommend a visit to Iron Horse for the Ultra Brut. We had it last weekend and can’t stop thinking about it. Good thing there’s a bottle of it chilling in the wine fridge right behind us. And yes, our wine fridge IS in the same room as our desk.)
