In Pane Sight: Acre/SF

http://acresf.com/

Acre/SF, 301 Union Street.

In the window at Acre/SF: the allure of Blue Bottle Coffee and a cozy sitting space with stylish apparel and accessories at arm’s length is a sight for sore eyes after the near-vertical walk to this North Beach shop’s location. A quick reward comes in the form of an accessories table with Karen Walker sunglasses and Joomi Lim Spike bracelets just through the door.

Well worth the walk, the store beckons with a gorgeous view of the Bay and neatly displayed, contemporary clothing and jewelry by labels such as Cheap Monday, Something Else by Natalie Wood and harder-to-find modern designers splayed out perfectly on wooden racks.

Maybe a bit of a treck for your lunch break? You’ll find a similarly hip aesthetic at Acre/SF’s sister boutique, Acrimony, located at 333 Hayes St in Hayes Valley.

Vintage chairs and racks of magazines welcome you from the window, as does that cute Laugh, Cry, Repeat canvas bag strategically placed in the corner.

Inside Covet’s New Union St. Boutique

Not to worry! Hayes Valley’s Covet boutique is not gone, but simply relocated to Union St. Owned by Frolick jewelry designer Adrienne Wiley, the shop is a trusty destination for locally-designed jewelry and gift-worthy accessories.

With pale blue walls as a backdrop, the shelves and displays at the new 2117 Union St. location feature Wiley’s own line, as well as silk screened t-shirts, original artists’ prints, scarves, belts, watches and handbags.

We hear the Inner Richmond location will remain open and continue as Wiley’s design studio.

You’ll find our previous coverage of Covet here. Take a peak inside below.

Video: Spread on Marmalade’s San Francisco Style

For our very first (be gentle, please) SF Indie Fashion style video, we tapped Marmalade boutique owner Hope Schaffer-Colling to show us quick, easy tips for turning the basic jeans-and-tank uniform into cute, casual outfits worthy of work or play.

“This is the basic stuff everybody has in their closets,” Schaffer-Colling told us before the shoot at the Union Street shop.

The laid-back style shown here reflects what you’ll find in-store at this Cow Hollow go-to for current looks at affordable prices (almost everything in the shop is under $100).

Playing Footsie: Footsie Party at My Boudoir

my-boudoir

A new way to play footsie is coming to San Francisco, and you can get a sneak peek (as well as 30 percent off all merch) this Friday at My Boudoir Lingerie boutique if you’re brave enough to meet three lovely ladies who’ll most certainly challenge you to pole dance, dress scantily and prep for professional boudoir pictures with your girlfriends (now that’s the kind of pants on the ground action we welcome).

It’s all part of the Footsie Party sneak peek from Footise creators Michelle Valeriano, Val Cunningham and Monica Michelle.

“I sincerely believe we can make a huge impact in confidence for each lady we serve.” says Cunningham, a longtime local dance instructor. “I teach women everyday who strive so hard to be as strong and successful as their man that they have lost touch with their most feminine side.”

So what is a Footsie party exactly? Think of it as a grown-up version of a slumber party with pro hair and make-up sessions for each guest and a pro boudoir photo session. Oh yeah, and instead of Rainbow Bright pajamas and a pillow fight, you’re more likely to be rockin’ sexy lingerie while learning a gravity-defying pole dance move. We think it begs to be part of your next bachelorette, girls night out or girlfriends gone wild adventure.

The footsie festivities go down tomorrow from 6-9 p.m.at My Boudoir,  2285 Union St.

Krimsa Multi-Designer Trunk Show

krimsa_redjewlery2If the We Can Care Food Drive hasn’t already put Cow Hollow’s Union Street shopping corridor on your map this week, may we suggest yet another reason to venture to the ‘hood: tomorrow evening’s multi-designer trunk show taking place at Krimsa.

Stop by from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for goodies from designers such as Noah Handbags, Treat, Red Jewelry, Bryna Nicole, Raina Bags and Ellie Mae, among others, at 20 to 50 percent off retail. If that isn’t sweet enough for you, we’re thinking the promise of Cups and Cakes cupcakes and a wine tasting by Ritz will be.

Another perk? Select designers are donating a percentage of the proceeds from pre-holiday purchases to charitable organizations of their choice.
