If it’s local fashion you seek, there’s much to do in the week ahead. Start on Tuesday night with a visit to Terra Gallery for the Effen Vodka party and a showing of new work by San Francisco designer Bacca Da Silva. Later in the week, load up on last-minute looks for Burning Man during Wild Feather’s Pre-Playa Sale, shop local during 440 Brannan’s Mission Meets SoMa event featuring designers from The Mission Statement, scope out style on the silver screen at the San Francisco International Fashion Film Festival, meet the creative world of Fashionist’s Mai Le as part of the latest SF Creative Mornings event and, last but not least, get inspired by the magnificently edgy Japanese fashion on display as part of this year’s two-day J-Pop Summit.
A big week lies ahead for lovers of fashion and film. After months of planning and hard work from founders Adelle, Kim and Annie, the very first San Francisco Fashion Film Festival is here. An opening night party kicks things off on Friday, while screenings continue through the weekend. For shoe addicts, a worthy midweek break comes in the form of the Convert Shoes Opening Party in Berkeley. Last but not least, the digitally stylish among us will no doubt feel quite appy about the ShopNear.Me Launch Party going down at Hangr 16 boutique on Friday night.
