There are some monthly visitors we’d rather do without, but one we can oh-so appreciate recently popped up on our radar: the new Paola Loves to Shop Sunnies of the Month Club. Shell out a $7 monthly subscription, and you’ll receive a new pair of shades from the San Francisco online retailer every 30 days.
The newly-released Mayfourteenth Spring/Summer 2011 collection of sunglasses features four new frames in patterned hues ranging from marbled rose to yellow tortoise shell and blue snakeskin. As with previous collections, each piece in the line from local photographer Benjamin Belsky continues to be handmade using vintage Mazzucchelli acetate and fitted with optical quality CR-39 lenses.
Our very-visual, (almost) chatter-free snap judgment of the day: Mayfourteenth keeps the funky and fresh feminine with its new limited edition Risa frame ($220), handcrafted from vintage Mazzucchelli acetate. A limited run of only 50 pairs means you may want to hurry and nab yours while they last.
Our very-visual, (almost) chatter-free snap judgment of the day: 1970’s vintage Ted Lapidus Paris Sunglasses, $110, sold by San Francisco-based Victorious Youth.
Our very-visual, (almost) chatter-free snap judgment of the day: vintage Cazal sunglasses, $180, available at local t-shirt and streetwear company Free Gold Watch, which just happens to have a pretty sweet show up through July 13 featuring new art by Amanda Lopez.
