Sunny Disposition: Mayfourteenth Spring/Summer 2011

The newly-released Mayfourteenth Spring/Summer 2011 collection of sunglasses features four new frame styles ($200-$220) in patterned hues ranging from marbled rose to yellow tortoise shell and blue snakeskin. As with previous collections, each piece in the line from local photographer Benjamin Belsky continues to be handmade using vintage Mazzucchelli acetate and fitted with optical quality CR-39 lenses.

For more on this local brand, check out our previous coverage. Below, you’ll find images from the current lookbook, which was shot in el Tigre outside of Buenos Aires, Argentina by photographer Pato Battellini and, the company notes, “inspired by the Rio de la Plata and the colors of its jungle.”

Snap Judgment: Mayfourteenth Limited Edition Risa Sunglasses

Our very-visual, (almost) chatter-free snap judgment of the day: Mayfourteenth keeps the funky and fresh feminine with its new limited edition Risa frame ($220), handcrafted from vintage Mazzucchelli acetate. A limited run of only 50 pairs means you may want to hurry and nab yours while they last.
