SF Fashion Events: Chillin’s 14th Anniversary, Trunk Shows, Parties + More

Along with the annual extravaganza that is San Francisco Pride (always a key coupling of days for spotting fabulous apparel mixed with a good-natured lack thereof), this week promises local fashion fun in the form of the Chillin’ Productions 14th Anniversary Party (for those who don’t know, this is the City’s longest-running indie shopping and art event), a Rare Device trunk show featuring Elizabeth Street Cosmetics and L’Aromatica Perfume, the Grand Opening Party for Marmalade Boutique‘s new space and the return of Treasure Island Flea. If clearing out your closet intrigues, there’s a Poshmark Listing Party at the fashion tech company’s Menlo Park HQ that promises fun.

Find details on these and other upcoming San Francisco fashion events waiting on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar. And of course, as you know, it doesn’t stop there. We’re adding new fashion happenings all the time, so check back often.

Hand-carved necklace by Lisa Nagel Design

Handmade by Lisa Nagel Design and available at San Francisco boutique Circle & Square, the Heart Carved Necklace ($60) does sparkle with a bohemian twist, thanks to a crystal druzzy agate on silver chain.

Lovesick 5 takes place on Valentine's Day at Mighty.

Billed as a Valentine’s Day event for “those who can’t commit to get committed,”  Lovesick 5 is also night of edgy local fashion from Alexandria von Bromssen, Jasmin Zorlu, Amy Fink, Tamo Design, Miranda Caroligne, Kathleen van der Spek, Rebecca Roman, Josie Adele, Benzo Couture, Velvet and Horns, Bradley D. Jordan and Danielle Pettee. There will also be a cash bar, trunk show, kissing booth, aura readings and a video installation. Take that, flowers and chocolate.

Put something locally-made on your lips with an Elizabeth Street Cosmetics Street Stick ($22). Even better: find your perfect color in person during Valentine’s Day Trunk Show & Moving Sale at Rare Device this weekend. Owner Kelly will be there with samples of her paraben-free lipsticks, glosses and balms.

Designed in San Francisco, the love-is-in-the-air red of the Peep-Toe Eel Skin Pumps by Paolo Shoes may be just the extra touch of impact your Valentine’s Day outfit needs.

Shacking Up: Rare Device + Little Otsu = Cool, New Space

News from San Francisco’s only design store with a name torn from the pages of Coleridge’s Kubla Khan: Rare Device is leaving Market Street for a bigger and better space on Divisadero, where it will partner up with onetime Mission paper goods shop Little Otsu. The planned relocation is set to take place in early March.

Specializing in design-conscious gifts, home accessories, art objects, jewelry and wearables, the new collaborative shop will include a Little Otsu mini store stocked with a full line of publishing products, as well as selected crafts and goods. This is the first time Portland-based, Little Otsu will be available in San Francisco since the closure of their Valencia Street store over a year ago.

Rare Device is currently located on 1845 Market Street and promotes a variety of designers who create modern, handmade, and beautifully-designed goods. We can’t wait to see the new and improved space in the Western Addition neighborhood at 600 Divisidero Street (at Hayes).

The Do List: SF Fashion Events Dec. 5-11

An always-stunning sustainable style gala, San Francisco fashion blogger must-dos, in-store parties and holiday shopping events are cheerfully crowding the calendar this week. As always, you’ll find the details on these and many more great upcoming events on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.

  • Much of the City’s glitterati will be glamming up on Tuesday night for Global Green’s 7th Annual Gorgeous & Green Gala. Tickets ($1,000+) for the dinner extravaganza don’t come cheap, but the party-goers who spring for the experience will be treated to an eco fashion show, music by Michelle Branch, food by such chefs as Michael Mina and lots of other goodies. Proceeds benefit Global Green’s projects in San Francisco and beyond.
  • Two events are sure to entice San Francisco fashion bloggers out on the town this week. First up, on Wednesday, Jackson Square’s La Boutique hosts the Polyvore x iFabbo Blogger Happy Hour, which is already drawing RSVPs from stylish staffers of companies such as Google, ModCloth, Gap and Salesforce.com, as well as many Bay Area bloggers we heart. Then on Sunday, the SFFMMA teams up with SeeZenn to host a Geek Style Lounge Launch & Holiday Party at the Westfield Centre. A blogging panel featuring Mira of the Beauty Bohemian, Savvy in San Francisco’s Melissa, the Chic Spy’s Mignon Gould and others will be a key part of the event.
  • In true holiday season style, the rest of the week is full of parties and chances to shop local. Getting festive with independent fashion will be oh-so-easy, thanks to holiday parties and shindigs from Pladra, Fiat Lux, Conifer, Secession Art + Design, The Factory, Clary Sage Organics and Boutiika at Azalea. We’re gonna keep it simple let you peep all the detes on the cal.

You can find details on all of these events and more happening this week on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.
