All Hail to Gail

At last week’s Fashion Feud finals, we were pleased to see more audience members than ever turn out for the event. Between moments catching up with designers like Bacca Da Silva and Charlie B of Invisible Hero Industries, we had a fine time watching Alexandria Von Bromssen, Gail B. Shrive and Julia Meeks concoct wearable ensembles from Mood fabrics in only an hour.

By the time Shrive (above right, with model) was announced as winner, the crowd was in fine spirits, thanks to the convivial surroundings (and a few drinks from Mighty’s bar, of course).

Shrive followed her win last week up with a show on Friday at Supperclub. Below, a few images of her latest work:

Not everyone featured in Tuesday’s Fashion Feud finals will be warring on stage. While designers Alexandria Von Bromssen, Julia Meeks and Gail B. Shrive battle it out on stage, vendors will be there to catch your roving eyes with an array of locally-made apparel, accessories and art.

The creators of the goodies shown here are among the local designers coming out to play and setting up shop at the style showdown.

Fight Club: Come Hang with Us at Fashion Feud III

Normally, we don’t condone fighting or scrapping or feuds of any kind (except very occasionally at really good sample sales). We’re much more of the life, liberty and the pursuit of hot shoes school of thought. But we’re certainly willing to make an exception for local designers brave and ballsy enough to battle it out on the runway with garments designed and constructed in a mere 60 minutes. That’s exactly what you’ll find during the third Fashion Feud event, taking place one week from tonight at Mighty.

Reasons to show up:

- Gail B. Shrive and Lauren Mendoza will go head to head in the third and final style showdown before the big finale on Jan. 26.

- Fabulous models Jen Lazorack and Marisol Velasquez donning hair by Kaitlyn Starbuck and pretty faces made even prettier by makeup artist Andi Victorine

- It’s an evening of free fashion, dahlings (if you’re over 21+ of course)

- Draanks on a Tuesday

- We, in this case meaning Lorraine, will be judging the event with her Libra-derived sense of justice and fair play, even though she really, really wishes that everybody could win.

We hope you’ll come out to watch the action along with us. We’ll be watching and tweeting and enjoying ourselves. It should be a fine ‘ole time.
