Unveiled: Benefit’s Newest Products

The Benefit Cosmetics boutiques are known to be pink, ultra-feminine and filled with chattering girls being dolled up with many fun-to-use products.  But last week’s exclusive preview party, Girls Gone Glam, took San Francisco’s Chestnut Street location to another level, with miniature glasses filled with champagne and pink-tinged cocktails, purple and pink frosted cupcakes and Benefit beauty experts adorned in necklaces of large plastic pearls.

Local fashion bloggers dove into the goodies and chatted with one another before all went silent as the San Francisco-based company began to introduce its three newest products.

“There’s something pretty special about all three of these products:  they’re perfect for a night on the town,” began Erin Simpson, Benefit’s PR coordinator.

She then introduced what she says is her favorite product, Girl Meets Pearl.  “It’s a liquid pearl for the face,” Simpson explained.

Twist up its pearly pink tube to unleash a golden pink cream made of raspberry and chamomile formulated to soothe the skin.

“It’s really, really hydrating for the skin. It goes on and really brightens your complexion. It gives it a little ‘oomph,’” said Annie Ford Danielson, Benefit’s global makeup artist, as she applied the newest products so onlooking bloggers could see their effects.  Danielson is also the daughter of Jean Ford and niece to Jane Ford, founders of Benefit Cosmetics.

Next up? The first liquid eyeliner from the company.

“We wanted to make liquid eyeliner as easy as possible, so we have this really, really small brush because you can literally do any kind of line that you want and you can’t mess it up,” said Danielson.

Danielson’s model for the night, Anne Sage, tapped the last product, PRRROWL, a double-ended tube of peacock colored mascara with a pink, blue-tinted lip gloss, as her favorite.

“It just feels smooth and totally comfortable,” said an excited Sage.

Girl Meets Pearl ($30), PRRROWL ($28) and Magic Ink ($20) are now available exclusively to Benefit boutiques and on the website.
