Shock Therapy: Culturshock by Culturcosm

Cultureshock-Event-at-Space-Gallery

We just learned about the Culturshock show from the folks at Culturcosm taking place tomorrow night at Space Gallery, and we’re certainly glad that we did (thanks much, Sara!). It’s a chance to peep the work of local artists and independent designers, many of whom aren’t regular suspects on the Bay Area shopping event circuit.

Stop by to peruse the latest offering from ReMade USA Handbags, Litter SF, Taryn McCabe, Vanessa Gade, Hilary Williams, Nate1 of New Skool and others amid beats by DJ ExtraLars.

And we are quite intrigued by the promise of surprise entertainment.

Now that’s our kind of shock therapy.

Litter SF at RVCA x Erin Wasson Trunk Show

RVCA-Event-FLYER-0809

This just in. We hear the ladies of Litter SF will be participating in this weekend’s trunk show and sale event at the RVCA flagship store in the Haight on Sunday. Stop by between 2 and 6 p.m. to score items from the spring Erin Wasson x RVCA collaborative collection at a discount and peep pieces from the model-stylist’s forthcoming fall collection, designed in conjunction with this socially-concious, skater-chic label. Music from live bands and draanks will accompany the fashion mayhem. RSVP to attend.

The San Francisco Chronicle Style Section is seeking thrifty fashion fans for a makeover on-the-cheap at Marshalls on July 29.

Also via the Chron, we’re intrigued by artist Rebecca Martinez’s new show at the Robert Tat Gallery featuring photographs of shop window mannequins in disrepair.

We continue to be fascinated with the fashion sensibilities of Rachel Lena Esterline. We think you will be, too…

Esterline pals and local designers of Litter fame Rachael and Mackenzie hang out with Nasty Gal’s Sophia, play dress up and discuss an exclusive series just for the Bay Area-based online retailer. We will be waiting for it with baited breath.

The folks at 440 Brannan want to host your next event, says the Nicole Presents blog’s guest writer Vanessa Salazar.
