The Do List: San Francisco Fashion Events Nov. 14-20

Oh, hello there, holiday season. You crept up on us. A pre-Thanksgiving rush of parties and trunk shows brings many opps to shop from local, independent sources. Intrigued? You’ll find the details on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.

  • On Tuesday, scope deals on luxe items during two trunk show sales of note. A Sequoia-Paris Sample Sale (details on the cal) means a chance to snag the label’s handbags for up to percent off, while a Kirribilla and Stella & Dot Trunk Show puts holiday dresses and baubles up for grabs.
  • On Wednesday, preview the spring 2012 collection and get 25 percent all the label’s eco-friendly merch during an Amour Vert Trunk Show.
  • Thursday night presents a challenge for any fan of San Francisco fashion, thanks to oodles of dueling events. See the latest from local label Turk + Taylor during the Turk + Taylor Fashion Show, shop for a good cause at the 49 Square Miles Grand Opening & Benefit Party and scope the new collection from Matt Dick + March on Sacramento Street.
  • Over the weekend, get a start on your holiday list with Kirsten Muenster Trunk Show at MAC, Wonderland’s latest Art Opening and Sunday’s huge Thread shopping event.

You can find details on all of these events and more happening this week on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.

Looks from the Kirribilla Spring 09 Collection

The Kefalonia Collection for Spring/Summer 2009 from Kirribilla has us dreaming of the Grecian isles that inspired it. The latest offering from the San Francisco- and London-based label brings more of the feminine and body-flattering cocktail and party looks that have defined previous collections, but this time, saturated solids in bougainvillea pink, sea blue and crisp white meet well-placed ruffles, structured waists and flirtatious necklines.

We think each dress offers a ton of versatility. Add bold jewelry and high drama shoes, and you’ve got a seriously sophisticated evening look. Don low sandals and subdued accessories, and you’re go to go for daytime. You’ll be able to find Kirribilla dresses at local retailers Dish (both San Francisco and Berkeley locations) and McMullen in Oakland come spring.
