You like to think you’ve got a good head on your shoulders. Why not put something on it that does it justice? The next time you’re seeking the perfect noggin-topper, consider a custom-made piece from designer Jasmin Zorlu‘s fall 2008 collection.

The local milliner’s hand-blocked, hand-stitched hats incorporate materials like fur felt, fish skins and leather in rounded, form-fitting shapes that hug the crown and frame the face. Perfect for San Francisco’s windy, yet temperate weather, Zorlu’s bonnets, helmets, cloches and caps are strikingly modern, playfully sculptural and, yet, still versatile enough to flatter a vintage-inspired cocktail dress by night and a pair of jeans on their way to hang in Zeitgeist’s beer garden on the next sunny Saturday afternoon (not that anyone ever, ever actually tries to look hip or cool or anything even remotely close to ironic when they go to Zeitgeist).
