The Do List: SF Fashion Events Jan. 30-Feb. 5

Three things I generally can’t get enough of: retro-inspired fashion, deals on local designers and getting seriously geeky about blogging. Good thing there’s a little of each one on the horizon this week. The 2nd annual Lesley Evers Studio Sample Sale in Berkeley means a chance to save up to 80 percent on the designer’s v. cute printed dresses, skirts and tops. In San Francisco, I’ll be speaking at Thursday’s FIDM fashion blogging event with Fashionista Lab, Calivintage, FashionablyAshley and iFabbo. Last but not least, Friday’s Girl Power Hour brings a chance to network and unwind at the same time.

See you out and about!

You can find details on all of these events and more happening this week on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.

What can we say? We’re on a wear-it-more-ways-than-one kick this week that can’t be stopped. First, we mentioned Sofie Olgaard’s versatile spring dress. Next, we highlighted new looks from Please Dress Up, whose Infinite Possibilities collection features a series of pieces that can be worn in a slew of different configurations.

Today, we’re turning our switch-it-up style spotlight on up-and-coming label Revelation by M.E., a San Francisco-based line launched earlier this year by FIDM graduates Myrda Monasterial and Eloisa Serrano.

For their spring-summer 2009 debut collection, the design duo offers up form-fitting dresses that are ready to part-ay any night of the week, but can be worn in at least four ways (you know, in case you don’t have time to run home to change in between engagements).

We had the chance to stop by a recent photo shoot at SoMa’s Barber Lounge to check out the line and view designs from the forthcoming fall collection, which features even more moving pieces that can be worn in multiple ways to create different looks. We’re excited to see what’s next for this local San Francisco design team.

Want to get your hands on Revelation by M.E.’s spring-summer collection? It arrives at San Francisco boutiques Mingle and Union B next month.
