How do you throw a party? Lots of tapas, even more sangria, DJ Chuck Love (who also sings, plays guitar, flute, horn and keyboard) and … a marching band. That’s what Barcelona-based retailer Desigual did earlier this month with the help of OM Records and 944 Magazine at its new Union Square store (101 Powell St. @ Ellis).
The “atypical” store launch was their way of saying Hola! to San Francisco. Over There was approx 1,700 people came through the store for the launch, including VIP attendees such as philanthropist and socialite Joy Bianchi, Alice Radio’s Hooman, Project Runway contestant and designer Christopher Collins, celebrity hair stylist Jerome Molles and 944 Magazine’s Erica Henderson and Dorian Beach.
