Would You Ever Buy Clothing in a Set?

yesstyle-celli-girl-set

One of the things that has intrigued us most since we started getting to know SF Indie Fashion sponsor YesStyle.com earlier this year is the Asian fashion retailer’s massive selection of clothing sets. Outside of a stray twin set on a department store discount rack, we haven’t seen clothing sold in sets in years, so it totally caught our attention to find an entire section devoted to sets on the site. In many ways, the notion of buying an outfit as a set goes against all our fashion sensibilities. After all, isn’t the whole point (not to mention fun) of fashion to pick and choose different pieces that reflect our personal style?

But as we began checking out YesStyle.com’s seemingly endless array of coordinated ensembles, we became intrigued by the idea of purchasing an entire outfit in one fell swoop. Yeah, it makes us feel a little like we’re eight years old again and shopping with mom and dad’s help. But there’s something deliciously lazy about being able to select an entire outfit in one click that holds a certain appeal for the wardrobe-weary mind.

Thus far, all we’ve done is look. If we take the plunge and try a set, we’ll be sure to report back and let you know how it went. In the meantime, what do you think? Would you ever wear a set? Perhaps the better question is, if you did, would you admit it?
