Shop & Party: Cary Lane 3-Year Anniversary + 30 Percent Off

Celebrating three years in the City this week is Hayes Valley boutique Cary Lane. During the Cary Lane 3-Year Anniversary Party on Friday event, local fashion fans will descend on the subterranean shop for a fun-filled evening of drinks, tunes, raffle prizes and 30 percent off all merchandise.

There’s a solid list of raffle prizes (haircuts! gift certificates! clothing!), a ton of food and beverage sponsors, a live DJ, an art show and, of course, lots of discounted designer samples and pieces from owner Cary LaScala’s own in-house private men’s shirt line.

Cary Lane Launches New Shop, Parties Big on Friday

The last party at Hayes Valley shop Cary Lane drew over 400 guests to its stylish subterranean environs, and we’re betting this Friday’s shindig will continue the store’s rep for combining fashion with good times. Reasons to go: free drinks and apps, 30 percent off storewide and the launch of the private label’s new online store.

Celebrating the arrival of the brand new web shop for the store’s in-house men’s shirt line, the Cary Lane Summer Party promises deals on the already discounted designer samples hanging from the racks, a 10:30 p.m. raffle featuring prizes from a slew of local sponsors, tunes courtesy of DJ Corey Sleazemore and plenty to eat and drink.

Cary LaScala (center, front) and models

Celebrating his Hayes Valley boutique’s second anniversary, Cary LaScala, owner of Hayes Valley boutique Cary Lane, brought out a hip scene of indie types for a party Friday night, which doubled as the launch of his eponymous line of button-down shirts. During the event, SF Indie Fashion caught up with LaScala, who boasts not only a professional background in the music industry, but also success in retail and, now, a line of his own.

“I think a lot of indie kids would love my shirts just because they fit really well,” says LaScala. “I just personally like clothes that fit me, so that was the basis of my designs.”

LaScala is proud to say the entire line is manufactured in San Francisco.

“I can do everything locally, which helps out the economy locally, and San Francisco, I love.  And I just love how my tags even say ‘San Francisco,’ ” says LaScala.

During the party a fashion show debuted the all-cotton shirt collection, featuring a mixture of smart plaids and solid black. Each shirt appeared with a bow tie, also designed by LaScala. With a trim fit LaScala describes as European, the shirts retail for a reasonable $65.

Don’t Miss: Cary Lane 2-Year Anniversary Party

Over the last two years, you might say local boutique Cary Lane has gone places – and in more ways than one. Not only has the destination for men’s and women’s designer apparel at deep discounts trotted from its original location in Noe Valley to its larger current home in Hayes Valley, but it also is making style moves, thanks to the launch this month of owner Cary LaScala’s private label men’s button-up shirts and bow ties, all of which are manufactured here in San Francisco.

You can celebrate all of the above with LaScala and friends this Friday night during the Cary Lane 2-Year Anniversary Party, complete with tunes by DJ Disco Shawn, art by Alex Case, free food and drinks, 30 percent off apparel and a fashion show starting at 9:45 p.m.
