Myra Joloya & Lirany Vasquez, the lovely ladies behind DNA (designers+artists) Pop-up shop.

At the recent All Vintage Everything pop-up shop from DNA (designers+artists), shopping and vintage fans turned up at the Sub-Mission Gallery for the clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry from a roster of vendor hosted by local favorites Fancy Fine and Mousevox Vintage.

The Sub-Mission Gallery’s discreet, unsuspecting location was the perfect setting for the pop-up of 10 different Bay Area vendors selling a treasure trove of items.

I bee-lined past the bar in front for the racks and, while perusing one stocked with designer labels and then venturing to other vendor tables, I found a huge assortment of affordable, hand-picked thrifted sundresses, blouses, silk trousers and more.

The sweet selection of goods is no accident.

DNA founders, Myra Joloya & Lirany Vasquez explained:

“We love vintage clothing, and we curate each pop-up shop to host vendors that we are familiar with and like. San Francisco is a hub for some of the best vintage. This shop makes it easier for people to afford designer brands and recycle clothing.”

Didn’t make it this time around? The creative collective organizes four, seasonal pop-up shops a year: one for fall, winter, spring and summer. Stay up to date by visiting the DNA facebook page and continue on for more shots from the night:

Party Seen: All Vintage Everything

Can more bars please install flame-painted vans? We like.

A slew of folks turned up for last week’s All Vintage Everything, where handpicked vintage and strong drinks at SubMission Gallery sought to take the sting out of the cold, rainy night. We indulged in both and snapped shots of the party scene while we were at it.

Vendors Goodbye Heart, Hummingbird Vintage, Retrofit Republic, Bayside Boutique, Paola Loves to Shop and Pretty Little Thing joined makeup artist Nikol Elaine and feather extensions from The Mission Statement for an evening that offered a little something for everyone.

The Do List: San Francisco Fashion Events March 21-27

We’re thrilled to be co-hosting this week’s All Vintage Everything event on Tuesday night, and there are a great many other noteworthy events on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar in the days ahead. Read on for our weekly dose of trunk sales, beauty happenings, fashion shows and places to shop from independent sources in San Francisco:

  • Come out and hang with the SF Indie Fashion crew, the fine ladies of DNA (designers+artists) and a handpicked roster of local vintage dealers during All Vintage Everything on Tuesday night in the Mission. Besides great shopping and cocktails, other reasons to come include mini-makeovers by makeup artist Nikol Elaine, hair feather extensions by The Mission Statement and photographers Aura O’Brien and Christophe Tomatis snapping the action.
  • The next night, head to Fresh and Local, a trunk show event benefiting non-profit organization Dress for Success. Get there early for hosted Champagne during the first hour and stay to peruse the latest collection of garment and shoe bags from JenDarling, shirts and bowties by Cary LaScala, t-shirts by Farm Fresh Co. and jewelry from Eco Citizen.
  • Start the weekend with a stop by the Laline Girls Rock Fundraiser, an evening of music and beauty supporting Oakland non-profit Bay Area Girls Rock Camp. It’s the first in-store event at the first U.S. location of Laline, a beauty company best known for body scrubs made with Dead Sea salts and scented whipped body soaps. Young girls band the Bayonettes will perform. If you’re a fashion or beauty blogger interested in attending the media preview hour, contact Provocateur Media for more information.
  • Finish off the week’s fashion action with cocktails and mingling at The Factory Capsule Preview on Saturday. During the event, the recently-opened SoMa apparel production house and fashion label presents its locally-designed April collection of women’s basics, as well as contemporary and custom pieces.

You can find details on all of these events and more happening this week on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.

We Came, We Saw, We Shopped: All Vintage Everything 3

At the All Vintage Everything event at SUB-Mission gallery, there was something unique from every vendor, including crocodile purses, funky sunglasses and belt buckles, killer shoes, amazing coats, beautiful dresses and handmade accessories.

As for the vibe, the people were super-friendly, and the cocktails were tempting on such a hot day. What more could you ask for? (Well, maybe some clothes for the guys out there. We like to shop, too.) All in all, All Vintage Everything was a great opportunity to shop for one-of-a-kind pieces, and it definitely wasn’t hard to find something worth taking home, thanks to event organizer Myra of Designers and Artists and the vendors such as Jaguar Lipstick, Bred Vintage, Gileads Treasures, Sorcery and Mob Shop Underground.

Oh, and if you missed out, here’s the good news: you can find most of the shops on etsy.
