Today’s Daily Candy San Francisco feature is right up the indie alley. From Boutique Ooh La La, skirts made exactly how you want them. Although, I should note that upon inspection of the featured designer’s web site , I found that the designer is based in LA. But hey, we’re all down with online shopping. The skirts come in many shapes and styles, but all have what I would describe as sunny, 1950s glamour about them. As I’m having a green moment today, I’m choosing the Carrie in Sage Dot skirt to illustrate.
Word from Marsha Garland at the North Beach Chamber of Commerce: Abitare in North Beach is having a 20-50% off summer sale. I’ve never been to the store, but from what I’ve read about it, it’s a hot spot for early holiday shopping and kitchen/home finds.
Looks like Feria Urbana is only happening monthly these days, so be sure to mark this on your calendar. This is one of the city’s original indie bazaars – and one of the most regular happenings. An added bonus is the venue: The Canvas Gallery. What a place. Art, food, wi-fi, coffee and cocktails. What more could a girl ask for?
Yesterday, I was exploring Pamela Mills (on assignment) in Presidio Heights and the stylist there, Teresa, showed me some absolutely fabulous leather belts from a Marin designer. The line is called Love, Melody. Apparently, she used to design outfits for Elvis and other stars. The belts are the softest leather and hug your hips perfectly. They are reversible – one side with neutral leather, the other with metallic print, studs or bright colors. At $165 -ish a piece, they’re out of my range for the moment, but they had me drooling. Oh I wish I had a pic of these babies! Alas.
