Sadness. National Product – a really cool indie store at 1845 Market St that sells art, tees and funky this & thats – has announced plans to close on Aug. 7, 2006. According to the SF Gate Culture blog, the owner Doug Domonkos has been pushed out by his landlord. Should you want to snag National Product, uh, products before the shop vacates the store space, stop by for the closeout sale happening there now. Nisa just opened a new store on 24th St in Noe Valley. The spring/summer ’06 collection is there now, but they tell me they will be bringing in the new Fall ’06 collection sometime in mid August. I was just glad to see an indie designer hit such a popular shopping corridor. Very cool.
I read today that Stitch Lounge is looking for volunteers to staff the store – especially on Sundays. If I could sew, I would jump at the chance to hang out at the lounge and get involved with all the cool sh*te that goes down here…Check out the posting on Craigslist.
