Spotted (SF Street Style): Eclectic Blue

Spotted: San Francisco blogger Punam, at the Space Gallery’s City Dolls trunk show, scoring some sweet jewelry at the Polk Street sale while donning a cream turtleneck, blue vintage sweater with cutouts and sequin detailing, black motorcycle inspired lace-front boots and chunky statement bracelets for the finishing touch.

How does this local style blogger (who writes at Nothing Broken) describe her personal style?

“Lots of vintage. Sometimes I’m dressed like a drag queen, sometimes I’m dressed like a prep, and other times I’m dressed like MC Hammer,” she tells us.

Her favorite places to shop in the city? A girl after our own hearts, she loves to peruse a combo of Goodwill, trade shows, pop-up shops, clothing-by-the-pound and anywhere that doesn’t have an official cash register.

Spotted (SF Street Style): Hardly Strictly Bluegrass

Marissa wanted to feel "sunny and bright" for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass last Saturday.

Spotted: Marissa, at the Golden Stage of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival on a gorgeously sunny Saturday afternoon (moments before Buckethead performed) wearing a richly-hued, floral print maxi dress that complemented her crimson locks and the free-spirited vibe of the event.

How would she describe her personal style? “It changes everyday. I put on what I feel like because it’s boring to do the same thing over and over,” she tells us.

Spotted (SF Street Style): Paisley Sparkles on Haight Street

Evelynne is an avid thrifter and hits up Five & Diamond and Thrift Town for her DIY projects.

Spotted: Evelynne, on Haight Street sporting blue highlights in her hair and wearing a colorful (and sparkly) paisley-print vintage skirt, cream leather ankle boots with strappy details and a gold and silver layered multi-strand necklace. Her style in a nutshell? “Bi-polar. I like mixing pretty with something a bit grungy,” she tells us.

The draw when shopping? Looking for pieces that are unique but versatile that she can wear with different outfits. As far as trends go, she is hoping to see cloaks instead of jackets this winter.

Spotted (SF Street Style): Girl on the Go Casual

Spotted: Erin, seen at Chestnut and Divisidero in the Marina grabbing a little caffeine pick-me-up between work errands. Erin is wearing cuffed skinny jeans, a knit top, turquoise accessories and a grey leather jacket by Q40 from Showroom in Mill Valley.

When asked about the go-to, staple items in her closet, she said, “my black and grey leather jackets, because I can wear them pretty much anywhere.” Her favorite store? San Francisco’s Two Skirts.

As for her general style strategy, clothing with day-to-night potential is on the top of her list:  “I like to wear clothing that is fun and versatile, things I can wear to work and then out for the night.”

Spotted (SF Street Style): Moto Floral

Stephanine, Turk St., San Francisco

Spotted: Stephanie, on Turk Street in the Tenderloin district, exiting a deli while on her lunch break from a nearby fashion school, wearing a white blouse with a strong shoulder, black tapered trousers and black studded motorcycle-style ankle boots.

The black and white ensemble was offset with a colorful floral print blouse and fun aviators with a hint of gold. The draw? A comfortable look with shape. She tells us she appreciates the originality of independent designers and enjoys shopping at Aritzia for new duds.
