San Francisco fashion fans take note: 7×7 magazine launched the Glamwatch Blog last month (though I just discovered it recently). It’s one to bookmark (as it doesn’t look like they have an RSS feed set up, although I could be wrong about that) for news about and pics of San Francisco fashion events, boutique openings, sample sales and hot new beauty products and apparel. Oh yeah, wait a minute… I am v. happy with myself because I finally added a link so anyone can subscribe to SF Indie Fashion’s RSS feed. This link is small. It is down on the right. Way down. I need to deal with some plugin issues before I can get those nice icons up on the site that most blogs have. But hey, considering that I am a total techie asshole, I am thinking of throwing a party for myself just for getting the link on the site. Check-check-checkit out. I’m gonna go pat myself on the back some more.
It’s been a big day at SF Indie Fashion. I *finally* added the SF Indie Fashion calendar to the site - there’s a link on the left in the sidebar. I’ll try to list everything indie fashion in the Bay Area that I can find - so feel free to send me your events via the contact link - also on the left hand side of this page. I haven’t added everything that’s coming up in the next few months, but will keep beefing this calendar up as best I can. It’s high time indie fashion designers and indie fashion fans in San Francisco have a central place to find out about shopping events, trunk shows, fashion runway shows and other fun stuff. Cheers!

Why does the simple fact that the holidays are upon us always seem to translate into… um, no time? No time at all. Apologies for the sporadic posting, but, as you know, I do this in my “free time,” and recently have been swamped with work, moving apartments, out of town guests and trying to give all my excess crap away on craigslist (woah nelly, that is a fountain of ridiculousness right there). But I am doing my best to keep the news about this season’s indie-friendly sample sales and San Francisco fashion events comin’. So hang in.
Lest you think I’d gone on another indie fashion hiatus, I should explain the lack of posts in the last four days. Mom and Dad indie fashion were in town for the weekend because I turned 30. ACK. But actually, minus a few freak-out sessions in which I questioned my career, the meaning of life and the ever-expanding nature of the universe, I’m unphased. Heh heh.
But I’m glad to be back at bloggin’ ’cause there is soooo much cool indie fashion shiznit going on this month, and I can’t wait to tell ya all about it.

Back to life, back to reality. I’m reviving the SF Indie Fashion blog. Be patient and kind while I update the look and get everything up to speed. Don’t worry, that cheesy “reflections” script over there is going bye-bye very soon. Promise. It is annoying the crap outta me. Anyway, stayed tuned for more.
If it wasn’t already painfully obvious, SF Indie Fashion has been and will continue to be on a little hiatus while its author tends to the TravelPost.com blog. Ah yes, this is what happens when one runs a blog for one’s own personal enjoyment and then ends up getting a paying gig running another one. SF Indie Fashion will return as soon as I can do it justice.
When I started this blog, I did so primarily to have a place to feature the work of designers I’ve run across at local fashion happenings. I’m a writer, so I’m always looking for new designers. I’m constantly running across designers I like that I can’t place in local publications. There are just not that many publications in San Francisco that feature independent designers on a regular basis. A blog seemed like the perfect repository for the ever-growing mass of information I seem to collect about local designers. As often as possible, I’ll pull a designer’s business card from my super fat card folder and feature their work up on the site. If there’s anyone you’d like to see up here, lemme know.
