About
SF Indie Fashion is a web site and online resource dedicated to independent designers in the Bay Area and beyond. We love the stores that sell ‘em, the shows that feature ‘em and the people that buy ‘em. We strongly believe in the importance of conscious consumerism and supporting San Francisco’s independent fashion scene, locally-owned boutiques and businesses, female entrepreneurs and creative endeavors of all kinds.
Now that you know what we’re all about, let’s talk about what we’re not about. We aren’t here to tell you what to wear, how to wear it, who’s in or who’s out. We aren’t style mavens, nor are we always the best dressed bitches in the room. And while we love spreading the word about the indie movement, we aren’t indie snobs. We try to buy local whenever possible, but you’ll find mainstream labels in our closets and bad reality television in our DVR. The bottom line? We cover what we know, what we like and what we’re currently obsessed with.
SF Indie Fashion is edited and managed by Lorraine Sanders, a San Francisco freelance writer, reporter, blogger, copywriter and occasional media consultant who just can’t get enough indie fashion (much to the detriment of her freelance writer’s bank account). Lorraine blogs for Kayak.com and writes for 7×7.com, Daily Candy, BUST magazine, the Noe Valley Voice, San Francisco magazine, San Francisco magazine’s In-Room Cityguide, Front Desk San Francisco, Avalon Travel Publishing’s Moon Metro guide book series and many others. She loves red wine, scrappy pit bull mixes with two bum legs, really bad television and subtle social ineptitude. To learn more about Lorraine, visit her online at www.lorrainesanders.com.
