The Do List: San Francisco Fashion Events Aug. 8-14

Along with San Francisco Fashion Week events (see our separate coverage of that below), there are plenty of opps this week to shop from local sources and play at the intersection of fashion and art. Enjoy. You’ll find the details on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.

  • Starting tonight at an invite-only party in the Mission and continuing on through Sunday, many in the City will be celebrating the San Francisco Fashion and Merchants Alliance’s San Francisco Fashion Week. With so much on tap to get your head around, we thought local fashion fans might appreciate a condensed rundown. We serve it up in Don’t Miss These 5 Things at San Francisco Fashion Week.
  • Midweek, you can get down with the arty crowd mingling over fashion as art during the opening reception for the latest show at Project One. Dubbed entitled, the show is curated by Brooke Waterhouse and Mani Motarjemi and includes work by Gus Harput, Rachael Mann and Domonique Echevarria, among others.
  • More details and a link are forthcoming, but we just had to mention a little event we heard buzz about over the weekend. Rumor has it that Mira Mira in the Mission will be hosting a trunk show of L.A.-based Rossmore jewelry on Thursday evening that will double as the debut for a very cool new vintage food cart charcuterie service that’s perfect for parties. Stay tuned.
  • Finish off the weekend by heading to Oakland for a Local Hatmaker Design Show in a happening artists’ warehouse space. Among the designers on the roster are Kitty Andrews Millinery, Jasmin Zorlu and Paul’s Hatworks.

You can find details on all of these events and more happening this week on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.
