Summer is in full effect on the local style scene, thanks to an indie shopping pool party, a Mission boutique’s summer game night, an annual conference for creative pros and a theatrical evening of music and fashion. You’ll find the details on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.
- On Thursday evening, the Mission Statement challenges local shoppers to face-off over Twister, putt-putt and Bananagrams while enjoying 25 percent off accessories during its Summer Games Night and Sale.
- Starting Friday and running through the weekend, the Conference of Creative Entrepreneurs offers a chance to learn from and chat with a bevy of creative small business owners, including RAG’s Blakely Bass and Storenvy.com’s Janette Crawford (among many, many others).
- Fusing dance performances, musical theatre and fashion, the Melange Fashion Show at the San Francisco Design Center may be on the pricier side as far as local fashion events go (tickets, $150 and up), but it intrigues with a lineup that features appearances by Bhangra Empire, Oscar-winning producer Bill Guttentag and apparel from 18 labels, including Nicole Miller, Carmen Chen Wu, South Africa’s Suzaan Heyns and San Francisco’s Dahae Kim, among others.
- Finish off the weekend by the pool at The Phoenix Hotel during the Haute Pool Show event from Tamo Hulva, Irene Hernandez-Feiks and Silver Lucy. Along with DJs and edibles from Chambers restaurant, 20+ independent designers will showcase their work, much of which we hear is perfect for the almost-off-to-Burning Man crowd.
You can find details on all of these events and more happening this week on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.
