Earlier this week, Sneakpeeq opened its doors to local fashion bloggers to eat, shop, and check out the company’s dangerously addictive Facebook app at their Sip and Sample event. Obsessed as we are with all things fashion-meets-tech, we went to check it out.
Overlooking the hustle and bustle of Market Street, the office was transformed with an adorably decorated table of delicious appetizers and a room full of sample pieces from brands like Kate Spade and Halston Heritage.
The concept behind this social media-meets-fashion app is simple: sign up for free through your Facebook account to gain access to obscenely good deals on current, in season fashion from high-end brands such as Halston Heritage, Nicole Miller, Lilly Pulitzer, Michael Stars and C.C. Skye, to name a few.
Once you see something you like, click the bright orange “peeq” button to uncover the discounted price. What sets Sneakpeeq apart from other discount sites is that fact that the price cuts on Sneakpeeq are different for each user. The price is determined based on your Facebook information, how often you share products with friends and how many people are “peeq-ing” at a certain item.
But be warned, if you spot a good deal act fast; you only have 15 seconds to accept the low price, and with an average product shelf life of 2-3 days, chances are the items you covet the most won’t be there when you come back to “peeq” again.
