The Do List: San Francisco Fashion This Week

The SF Indie Fashion Calendar is always full of events to keep San Francisco fashion lovers busy with trunk sales, beauty happenings, fashion shows and places to shop from independent sources. This week is no exception. Here’s our pick of top events this week:

  • Want to get involved with San Francisco’s fashion community? A chance to do that in a major way comes during Wednesday’s quarterly meeting of the San Francisco Bay Area Fashion Network, the organization behind such events as last winter’s SNOW fashion show. The meeting is open to members and prospective members only. To attend, rsvp to sfbafn (at) yahoo (dot) com.
  • On Thursday, head to The Common for another Storefront event from Lookbook.nu and DNA (Designers + Artists). It’s a one-night-only pop-up shop featuring vintage, handmade and on-trend apparel and accessories for men and women at up to 65 percent off retail. Even better: you can save 50 percent on admission (reg. $20) with the discount code shopdna when you buy your ticket in advance. Goodie bags go to the first 50 shoppers.
  • On Friday, celebrate the grand opening of Big Things, a web site and online shop curated by Rebecca Goldschmidt and devoted to art, apparel, design and ideas from around the globe. The shindig goes down at Kitsch Gallery, where you’ll find installations by local artists, classic rock ‘n roll from the pre-teen musicians of the SF Rock Project and lots of covet-worthy objects and accessories from independent sources.
  • On Saturday, step out with Fashion Your Mind’s 2nd Annual Giving to Live Fashion Show at the Westin St. Francis. Benefiting those living with cancer, the black tie event features a runway show hosted by Charleston Pierce, casino-style games and many chances to win prizes while supporting a great cause.

You can find details on all of these events and more happening this week on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.
