The Do List: San Francisco Fashion Events This Week

While New York Fashion Week gets underway on the other coast, you can still get your fashion fix right here in San Francisco. Check out these local fashion happenings and suggestions for stylish things to do in the Bay Area this week:

  • Can’t make it to New York this week for Fashion Week or the Independent Fashion Blogger’s Evolving Influence conference? Find solace in the fact that you can watch much of the all-day blogger event via live stream. But you’ll have to get up early to catch it all – panels start at 6 a.m. PST.
  • This week’s events starts with the return of the weekly San Francisco Arts Market (12 – 6 p.m.), where you can get your hands on local fashion, jewelry and other diverse arts and crafts. Who knows, maybe you’ll pick up something locally made to wear to what’s next on our list.
  • Macy’s in Union Square is known for its many floors, but the department store is taking things to a whole ‘nother level during Friday’s Fashion’s Night Out (6 – 9 p.m.), which captured our attention with its “Flutter, A Mid-September Night’s Dream” exhibition featuring San Francisco’s gr.dano, Dcepcion and Michael San Gaspar, among others. Other enticements include appearances by Grammy winner Carlos Santana and Real Housewife of NYC, Countess de Lesseps.
  • Summer vacation-induced jet-setting may be over, but you can still experience some jet lag (the good kind) at Trendy Lime’s Jetlag: Celebration (9:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.) on Friday. The nightlife event blends fashion, photography, travel and cuisine all under one roof.  The show, photo-fun and dancing all go down at Pier 33’s Butterfly.

You can find details on all of these events and more happening this week on the SF Indie Fashion Calendar.
