In with the Old: Vintage Shopping this Week

For those of you who, like us, are just a little bit obsessed with vintage finds, this is a good week to be free in the evenings in San Francisco. Here are two shopping events worth checking out:

After spotting the vintage Lagerfeld bag above while perusing a sneak peek of the items on offer at tonight’s All Vintage Everything Part Deux event from DNA and TheSFStyle, we were even more intrigued than we usually are by the opportunity to snag wearables with a unique sense of history. Should you find yourself similarly smitten, the evening promises apparel and accessories from etsy vintage dealers, including  Goodbye Heart and Lost Feather Vintage, as well as contemporary apparel and accessories from emerging designers. Stop by on the early side for complimentary appetizers from Reaction Restaurant (6-7 pm) and free blowouts from Blow salon, available on a first-come, first-served basis until 8 pm. And for you camera hams, dress to impress: the SFStyle will be snapping pics for their popular San Francisco streetstyle blog. All Vintage Everything Part Deux, Tues. 6-9:30 p.m., SUB-Mission Gallery, 2183 Mission St., SF.

On Thursday night (you know, the night your holiday weekend really begins), venture to the private residence of Fashion Slave founder Kim C. for a summer sale featuring Daisy’s Vintage day dresses, accessories and sunglasses. Those on a budget, take note: dresses are just $15 a piece, so even if you have to alter one a little bit for the perfect fit (as is often the case with vintage apparel), it’s still a great deal. Along with the frocks, there will be a selection of vintage sunglasses frames fitted with new lenses priced at $40. You may have seen them featured earlier in the year on SF Indie Fashion or at Collective boutique in the Mission. Daisy’s Vintage Sale, Thu. 6:30-10 p.m., 448 14th St., SF.
