Setting up Trunk: Ashton Miyako Debuts with Help from Invisible Hero
October 16th, 2009Friends Charlie B of Invisible Hero Industries and Ashton Miyako debuted their fall apparel at the Red Haute + Blue Productions’ trunk show last night at Rosewood Bar.
We stopped by to find designer Charlie B focused on the future. The local designer is already plotting to don a sparkly plum dress by her longtime friend and budding designer Ashton Miyako this New Year’s Eve.
“I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’m wearing this dress,” Charlie tells us as she pulls Miyako’s dress over her head.
Despite Charlie B’s encouragement, Miyako began the evening timid about debuting the clothing she recently started making.
“I love it and I have spent hours and hours making everything, but now I’m too afraid to open my first trunk and show everyone else,” Miyako told us.
Luckily for Miyako, Charlie was happy to play model and pull out dresses out for everyone to see. Soon, Miyako was pulling her suitcase out from under Charlie’s display and showing off her own creations, including a blue and pink layered skirt made of recycled suede.
And just like that, Miyako was in the midst of her first trunk show.
