Earlier this week, I stopped by Cary Lane, Noe Valley’s new discount designer boutique for men, women and children. After interviewing co-owner Cary LaScala (the store’s name comes from his middle name, which is Lane) for an article I’m writing about the shop for the Noe Valley Voice, he was kind enough to let me snap some pics of the store space.
In the shot above, note the drum set in the back. LaScala is a musician who’s worked with members of the Foo Fighters and been in a slew of bands, most recently San Francisco’s Bellavista. Right now, he’s taking a break from being in a band to run the store, which sells heavily discounted merch from designer labels, including Evisu, Quail, Loeffler Randall, Chip & Pepper, Apolis Activisim, Addict, Hayden Yoo and many others. The inventory’s always changing, but you can pretty much count on finding everything at 20 to 60 percent less than what it would regularly retail for.
Also on display during my visit was a fabulous gown by local designer Erin Mahoney (the shot below doesn’t do it justice). Apparently, she has a workspace in back.
On your next 24th Street stroll, a peek in this store is definitely worth it, especially this weekend, when you and a friend can score 50 percent off any already marked-down items (see the digi flyer at the bottom of the post for more details) by signing up for the mailing list.
