Oh heck yeah ya do. The folks at Halstead Bead recently got in touch to tell SF Indie Fashion about the company’s 4th Annual Halstead Bead Business Development Grant competition for emerging jewelry designers.
The 2009 grant winner will receive $6,000 to grow and develop a new jewelry brand, and all finalists will be eligible to participate in a mentoring program that pairs new designers with established successes in the jewelrey design world.
Open to U.S. citizens with businesses launched on or after Jan. 1, 2006, the competition application requires a design portfolio, business plan and answers to some essay questions. Here’s the good news: you’ve got a decent amount of time to round all that stuff up. Applications will be accepted starting April 15, 2009. The entry deadline is June 17, 2009. Winners will be announced in August.
Here’s hoping an SF-er (or any independent Bay Area designer, for that matter) snags the moolah. We’ll be here, crossing our fingers.
