Let’s Take Some Shotwells
November 21st, 2008SF Indie Fashion stopped by Shotwell yesterday to see what all the fuss is about. Guess what? The fuss is for good reason. The store is an independent fashion fan’s downtown dreamscape and did a good job of setting our fashion hearts a-flutter. We were delighted to spend time perusing the racks, artfully arranged table displays and wall montages.
The store offers a balanced mix of vintage and new finds. Among the designers carried here, we found fantabulous jewelry and shades a la Alex & Chloe, original footwear and jackets by Al’s Attire, boyshorts by Porcelynne, Cheap Monday denim, outlandish leggings by Rebecca Beeson and a seemingly endless supply of I-want-that apparel for men and women by designers from the Bay Area and farther afield, including Minnie Wilde, Please Dress Up, Turk+Taylor, B.Son and Australian label Life with Bird.
Also of note, the amazing cardboard cake sculptures by local artist Amy Wing Fong Lee.
