Slew of the New

A slew of brand new designs from local independent designers have been hitting the public this week, and we just had to share.

First up, the Convertible Snap Hoodie from AC Clothing & Bags. Here’s designer Amy C. modeling the garment, which sports a hood that turns into a high-drama collar.

You think it’s a simple, unassuming hood like all hoods that have gone before it….

But wait, it’s really a lot more complex than that, like a fine wine, you have to let it breathe…

Until BAM! It’s an amazing snap collar!

Next up, Homeroom Clothing has just added items from its fall collection to its online store. Sure, you can buy pieces online the old school way, but I’d encourage anyone with custom clothing dreams to get in touch with the company’s owner-founder Alval, who I had the chance to interview for a recent-ish Citysearch feature about independent designers who welcome customers to their San Francisco studios and work spaces. Visit the Homeroom Clothing studio, and Alval will take any of his company’s designs and tailor them just for you using the fabric of your choice. Sweet, eh?

Another designer turning out the newness this week is Jennifer of Porcelynne. The purveyor of cute, eco-friendly underthings recently created a piece of apparel that you’ll be more than happy to let all the world see. The Grey Asymmetrical Corseted Sweater below is cozy, slinky and polished looking all at the same time. Also, Porcelynne has marked a ton of stuff down this week to clear out inventory for the holidays, so be sure to hop over to the site for deals on boyshorts, tanks and accessories.

GAMA-GO just released this smashing Dirty Bird Pastoral print tee:

Then there are some girlie things we love. Like the new Arana Exotic Clutch from Bryna Nicole’s Holiday 2008 collection. You can save 15 percent on this baby through Dec. 15 with the online code bnHolidays:

And for a dollop of ladylike sophistication without sacrificing our edge, we’re drooling over the Limited Edition Black Druzy Ring in 18K gold from Melissa Joy Manning’s Black & White collection:

Last but not least, we don’t have images just yet, but you can view a PDF of Helena de Natalio’s Spring 2009 Lookbook to see the recent GenArt alum’s forthcoming pieces.
