We took a few days off to max and relax outside of Boulder, Colorado, a place that could easily make one question whether Jerry actually died back in 1995. But now we’ve returned. In other news….
- As you’ve probably heard, Stitch Lounge is closing next month. It’s bittersweet news for the local indie fashion and crafty communities. While we know all good things must come to an end, we were still saddened to know this hub for sewing and creating is shutting its doors in favor of an online-only existence. But hey, we’ll take a virtual Stitch Lounge over none at all….
- Stitch isn’t the only indie-minded place closing up shop. The Church Street Apothecary will be shutting down in the coming weeks, unless someone purchases the business and renames it. According to owner Kati Kim, who also owns Haight boutique doe, the California Pharmacy Board has threatened legal action for the shop’s use of the word “apothecary” in its name. Apparently, only pharmacies can legally use that word in their official names. To help move inventory out of the shop, everything other than magazines and flowers is currently marked down 30 percent.
- Is your head feeling lonely? Spiff it up with a hat from Jasmin Zorlu Millinery’s fall collection, which debuts this Thursday during Activspace‘s open studios night.
- Peninsula peeps, celebrate IBI Boutique‘s birthday by mentioning the mailing list email to receive 10 percent off your purchase at the Santa Clara store through Aug. 16th.
- I haven’t swung by yet to confirm it, but RAG is supposedly re-opening this week after a month-long closure.
