Starting this fall, the East Bay Fashion Resource will be dropping some serious knowledge on local emerging designers, hobbyists and crafty entrepreneurs with hopes of turning their creative endeavors into full blown, successful businesses.
Launched last year by Jennifer Lynne, of Porcelynne fame, and Misty Rose, the mind behind Mzz T Rose and the women often found behind the counter at R.A.G., the initiative is ramping up this fall with business seminars geared at anyone interested in starting a fashion company.
Each three-part series takes place over consecutive Saturdays, and though you can sign up for just one of the three-hour sessions at a time, tackling all three means getting schooled on an important trio of key subjects that Jennifer and Misty consider the essential building blocks of any independent design businesses:
– Concept to Reality: How to develop your concept
– Production, Marketing & Sales: How to get your product out
– The Business of Fashion: How to get your business up and running
Jennifer and Misty teach each seminar together, so attendees will get the benefit of learning from two designers who’ve followed different, but equally effective, roads to launch and sustain successful creative businesses.
But wait! There’s more. Sign up for the September classes, and you’ll also get a copy of the forthcoming, yet-to-be-titled book from the East Bay Fashion Resource, which includes a little blurb on blogging from yours truly. And, if it’s not too much trouble, mention SF Indie Fashion when you sign up, pretty please with ice cream on top. ‘Cause that means some good stuff for us, too.
