Yesterday, I got bored with a pair of sweatpants and decided to give them some ’80s punk flair. I got the idea from a shirt that my friend Elena was wearing the other weekend. She got the shirt at William Good. Upon inspection, we realized that it would be really easy to duplicate the effect. Even with my rudimentary sewing skills, this took me less than an hour.
All you have to do is sew a piece of fabric to the inside of your pant leg. Then add additional stitching to create a grid effect.
Carefully cut out strips of the leg to reveal the contrasting fabric underneath. And presto. Nutty sweatpants. Ignore my ugly hemming job!
