I got the chance to meet jewelry designer Sondra O. of Funky & Fabulous at the Fashion for a Good Cause runway show two weekends back. A recent San Francisco transplant, Sondra has been designing and making custom jewelry since 2001. You can learn more about her and how she became an independent designer in this newspaper article from last year, Wearable Wares are Funky & Fabulous.
Now that she’s putting down roots in the Bay Area, one of her biggest projects is launching classes at SoMA shop General Bead. On tap in the coming weeks, General Bead has classes in wire working techniques, peyote stitch, beading basics and several other options. Classes are reasonably priced – $45 to 60, though keep in mind that beads are not included in class cost. If you want to know more, check out the General Bead class brochure.
And for those of us in a buy, not make mood, Funky & Fabulous is getting its sale on just in time for Valentine’s Day. Check out the web site for details.
