Doe A Dress, A Female Dress

black-label-soiree-dress.jpgThrough Dec. 31, 2007, one of our favorite Haight boutiques has marked all of its dresses down expressly for the purpose of helping all of us look that much more fabulous on NYE. At doe, you’ll find labels like Deanna Bratt, Black Label, She-Bible, Fluet, Mon Petit Oiseau, Porridge, Stewart Brown and James Perse. The sale applies to all the frocks in the store and online. So even if you can’t get your ass there in person, you can still click your way to some exclusive finds – like the She-Bible Cowl Neck Dress in Olive, sewn in this hue just for doe.

For New Year’s Eve, my pick from the online inventory is the Black Label Print Soiree Dress, pictured here. With a jersey top and silk skirt, this fig-flattering number comes from local design veteran Rita DiLorenzo, who I had the chance to talk to back in October for a Daily Candy feature (Nip and Tuck, Daily Candy) I was working on. In addition to having worked for Rebecca Beeson, Bebe and Leela, DiLorenzo has also designed costumes for dance companies. So don’t be surprised if wearing one of her pieces reunites you with your long-lost sense of rhythm just in time for the party. Cost: $184 (down from $264)
