Designer Resource: Small Business Workshop

For designers, artists and independent retailers in San Francisco, starting up a small business can be challenging to say the least. Urban Solutions – a great local organization that helps small businesses of all stripes do their thang in the City by the Bay – is offering a free workshop designed to help current and potential small business owners understand the ins and outs of loans, financing and other economic resources that may be available for establishing and sustaining their entrepreneurial endeavors:

On Wed. December 12, 5:30-7:30 p.m., two local non-profit organizations will be presenting a free-of-charge workshop on how to access financing for small businesses. The workshop will take place at Etiquette Lounge, 1108 Market Street in San Francisco. Refreshments will be served and there will be a door prize of a $100 Gift Card to Best Buy. Urban Solutions, a local economic development non-profit organization devoted to strengthening small businesses is partnering with San Jose-based non-profit Lenders for Community Development to present Quick and Easy Small Business Loans Night. All interested small business owners are invited to attend this free-of-charge workshop focused on helping entrepreneurs apply for financing. Lenders for Community Development provides loans of $1,000 to $25,000 with competitive, fixed interest rates and no upfront fees for enterprises that are starting-up, expanding or stabilizing. Free business consulting will also be offered at the workshop. Light refreshments will be served.
