Some birdies from Stanford told me today about the recent launch of LittlePretty, an online store selling jewelry (like the Guava Necklace by Castaway, pictured here) from a growing roster of independent designers. The boutique is the brainchild of a Stanford business school student named Claire, who says:

The motto, “Everyone Deserves a LittlePretty,” comes out of my passionate belief that great design, whether on a wall or on a wrist, should be accessible to everyone…

To that end, I tried to make the site a no-brainer: free shipping on orders over $100, hassle-free returns, and an intuitive site design, thanks to my talented and telepathic web designer, Kate DiCesare, and the team at Edit.com.

For guys, we also have a gift ideas page with some sure-to-win suggestions, gift assistance support, and inexpensive, easy gift wrapping. The initial inventory includes 85 unique pieces from eight gifted designers, priced from $50-$250 retail.

One of the best things about the site is the designer section, where you’ll find bios on each. I love knowing about the people and the companies behind what I buy - so I was especially happy to see this here.
