Le Weekend Is Upon Us

Well, well, well. It’s Friday again. Funny how that happens so regularly. Despite the raindrops, this weekend is full of great ops for indie fashionistas. Here are my picks:

Green Halo Open Studios Party – Celebrate Open Studios with the veteran San Francisco jewelry designer, JBalducci Jewelry, Janine Marie Handbags, Whitney Smith Pottery, and Verivaine Tees. Cocktails and treats included. Saturday, October 13th from 2 to 8 pm, Green Halo & JBalducci’s Studio, 1150 55th Street, Studio C in Oakland.

The Informed Body Trunk Show – This new-ish Hayes Valley yoga studio will have Omala, City Bag Trade and Swivel Jewelry in the house from 11am to 2pm for your enjoyment.

Birthday/Craftser/Benefit Party at Otis – Jenny Wong hosts friends and fashion-o-philes at Otis on Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm. Stop by for Mitchell’s ice cream and designers like Deadbeat Sister, Suutra, Mignonette Designs, Low Speed Duplicating, Armour Sans Anguish, Bungalow 360, Mimosa Studio SF, Squink Industries, Amanda Archer Clothing, the Fox and the Lamb and SunnyOmatic. Here’s the event flyer:

Elie Boutique Grand Opening Party – Burlingame’s sauciest new shop celebrates its opening on Saturday from 3pm to 7pm. If the in-store offerings are as sweet as the merch Elie brought to the Top Button shopping event last night, then this is one shop even SFers are going to want to put on their lists.

Capsule Design Festival – On Sunday, one of San Francisco’s most beloved indie fashion events returns to Hayes Valley with over 140 clothing and accessories designers from the Bay Area and beyond. If you go to any event this weekend, go to this one. You won’t be disappointed. While you’re there, don’t forget to stop by Honey Ryder to take advantage of the boutique’s 20 percent off birthday sale, which ends Sunday.
