Cocoon Is Wrapped Up in Indie Fashion

Last Wednesday, I had the chance to experience the new Cocoon Spa & Yoga Studio that’s opening on Wednesday in Rincon Hill, and I was thrilled when I discovered the retail section – which is almost exclusively made up of independent San Francisco apparel and jewelry designers. Owner Sara has filled her spa with super cute, yet totally wearable lingerie by Mary Green (25 years designing in San Francisco – wow), jewelry and accessories from San Francisco fashion week alum Liza Sonia and handbags from Sally Spicer. There are also hats from San Diego Hat Company, yoga mats and blocks from Utah-based Hugger Mugger and unbelievably soft yoga apparel from Santa Monica-based Yogitoes.

It’s always awesome to see new businesses cropping up in San Francisco that support other local business people. Once the spa and studio opens next week, this is one new destination I can pretty much guarantee you’re going to start hearing about. The treatments are fabulous and the space itself is unique, loft-like and artsy, serene and urban all at the same time….and they’re planning wine and yoga workshops. Sounds like I may have a new hobby on the horizon…
