Looking for something crafty to do this weekend? Why not craft for a good cause at the Craft Gym‘s quarterly chemo caps event:
This Sunday we’re hosting our quarterly charity crafting event to make chemo caps and hospital buddies for local patients. Drop in for any length of time and put your crafting skills to good use while meeting other crafters and learning something new.
Knitters, crocheters, and stitchers of all skill levels are invited to attend. For those looking for a little inspiration or direction, Craft Gym workshop instructors will be on hand to assist with easy step-by- step instructions. Volunteers who don’t know how to sew, knit, or crochet will be able to embellish pre- made hats. All hats will be given to the adult and children’s oncology units at UCSF’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. Hospital Buddies will also be donated to UCSF where they will help kids undergoing surgery learn about the procedure and have a friend to accompany them through the recovery process.
Charitable crafting events are free of charge. Free cap patterns and refreshments will be provided, and a limited number of sewing machines will also be available.
