Chrissy Bee and Picnic Are All About the 80s

80 percent off, that is. This weekend, Chrissy Bee and Picnic, two indie-friendly boutiques, are joining forces at Cafe Royal (yummy soju cocktails, art, nice wines by the glass) to throw an end of summer sale event this Sunday, Aug. 19. Both shops will be featuring their spring and summer collections for up to 80 percent off. Local jewelry designers Design by Juliet and Macha Designs will be there, too. ‘Cause what’s an outfit without accessories, dahling? That’s right, it ain’t shit.

Free snackety snacks and drinks at happy hour prices make this an excellent place to get your semi-sober late summer shop on.

(And one last thing. Try saying the word “picnic” to yourself over and over. Doing this led me to wonder where in the world the world picnic came from in the first place. Apparently, this has been a hotly contested topic – as I learned from Google. Thanks Google. You are full of so much information, it makes me giddy. But not as giddy as 80 percent off from Chrissy Bee and Picnic. Origins of the word picnic.)
